Philippine Fashion Week S/S 12 : Penshoppe

One of the most awaited shows during Philippine Fashion Week was Penshoppe's show. We all know the main reason behind it: Mario Maurer walking down the runway! with Vj Utt as well. Of course, as a fashion enthusiast I was also looking forward for Penshoppe's summer collection and was excited about it.

The show started off with their Holiday collection which Ed Westwick modeled through billboards which you can see all over Manila as well in Penshoppe stores. In their Holiday 2011 collection it consists of outdoor comfort pieces with a touch of rock star glamour.

Philippine Fashion Week S/S 12 : The Ramp Crossings

Okay before we all get "serious" with this post - can I just start off by saying: THE RAMP CROSSINGS, I LOVE YOU. I love the whole show! The clothes are AMAZING. I swear, it's so good. The styling - GREAT!  The accessories - GOTTA HAVE THEM. I love love love!!! I'm very happy that I watched this show - it was so worth of our time! Keep it up The Ramp Crossings, stay forward & trendy at the same time.

The Ramp Crossings finally reveals itself to be the veritable style source it has always been as it joins the famed runways of Philippine Fashion Week.

Blanc and noir ensembles from the store’s namesake in-house brand – The Ramp- opened the show in sophisticated modern translations of the tuxedo.  From a wingtip collared dress, skinny pants and halter top with bowtie combination to a zippered jumpsuit, the crowd saw gender bending fashion at its superlative chic.
My top looks from the first segment

The show’s second segment consisted of panelled pants and skirts topped with caped jackets for an effortless and polished career look.  Reptile is strong as ever and not just as accents but as pièces de résistance to any outfit, such as the faux snakeskin maxi dress, jersey cropped pants, full on reptile print shirtdress and cape dresses.

Philippine Fashion Week S/S 12 : Oxygen

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been really updating about Philippine Fashion Week. I have been busy with my personal life. Though finally found a time to make a blog post.

I don't know if anyone will agree with me but Oxygen's collection was a bit dull. Though the music that was used in the show was good, totally my type: INDIE. The styling with the male models were great, I really enjoyed it and the pieces we're good. What disappointed me was the females' collection - it is something you've already seen for the past years. Though there are a few pieces and looks that I like - I just wished that they have done something more forward or unique. I really expected a lot from Oxygen since it is the first mainstream local store that offers hipster-ish looks and not your usual pang-masa pieces.

Triumph International: 125 Years of Tailoring Female Shape

Triumph celebrates their anniversary this year and we are lucky enough that we were able to celebrate it with them during fashion week.

Beauty. Seduction. Trendsetter. Female Confidence. These are some of the words to describe Triumph's collection that was showcased during Philippine Fashion Week. The show started off with models in coats and a song that gives a vintage-ish mood. The models takes of their coats and surprises us with lingerie that may be inspired during the 50's & 60's era. The models showed confidence and elegance in Triumph's lingerie while strutting down the runway. The show consists of different kinds of lingerie, from sexy seductive bras & underwear to fitted tanks, babydolls and slips that made every model look beautiful in it.

Perfection, innovation and a fervent desire for supreme quality comfort and cutting-edge design is at the heart of the company's philosophy. It is this very commitment that brings the seductive power to Triumph lingerie and shapewear: every piece flatters the boy, lures the senses and expresses sublime fashion and body awareness. Stylish, high-performance & contemporary designs are things that they aim for.

Philippine Fashion Week S/S 12 : Jun Jun Cambe

Jun Jun Cambe's Spring/Summer collection is an oriental themed show - from black conical hats to printed kimonos inspired from kabuki, a classical Japanese dance-drama. Red, black and yellow dominated the first half of the show followed by brown and white pieces.

I really like how he was inspired by the oriental and how he executed it. However, I expected something more dramatic for the men and not just on women. Though, the last piece which Marina Benipayo modeled was really beautiful and so is the headdress she was wearing. The accessories used in the whole collection we're really nice especially the necklaces, earrings and bags.

Philippine Fashion Week S/S 12 : Gerry Katigbak

Shoes by Bengt Enrique

Sandals by Ghen Alcantara

Shoes by Kristal de Guzman

Love those colorful dresses at the end of the show. I love how Sir Gerry played with stripes and colors and made it to one whole collection. VERY COLOR BLOCKING. I also love how he used shoes made by his students to be able to give a chance to show their talent on the runway. I also like how he mixes dark outfits with loud colorful accessories. It was a very great show for spring and summer. He actually captured the summer & spring feel that we're all looking forward to.
